Named contenders for the title of best player in Africa in 2011


The Confederation of African Football named the 10 contenders for the award the best footballer in Africa in 2011. According to the Associated Press, in the final list were: Samuel Eto'O (Cameroon, "Anji"), Yaya Toure (Ivory Coast, "Manchester City"), Didier Drogba (Cote d'Ivoire, "Chelsea"), Zhervino (Cote d'Ivoire, "Arsenal"), Andre Ayew (Ghana, "Marseille"), Asamoah Gyan (Ghana, "Al Ain"), Kevin-Prince Boateng (Ghana, "Milan"), Adel Taarabt (Morocco CRC), Moussa Sow (Senegal, "Lille") and Seydou Keita (Mali, "Barcelona"). The winner will be announced on December 22 in a ceremony in Accra (Ghana).
